Mark & Emily Turner Memorial Library is entering the final phase of expansion. In order to give our community the best level of service during these next crucial weeks, the library will be closed to foot traffic beginning Monday, May 16, to allow time for necessary furnishings, materials, and public access equipment to the new addition and for the construction crew to move their tools to the current section. The library will reopen its doors on Monday, May 23, in the new part of the building. Turner Memorial Library will operate Monday through Saturday during those normal business hours during the final phase to help familiarize the public with the layout of the new library addition. The library will resume full seven-day-per-week total building access to the public upon its grand opening in late July. Please watch for updates on that event. Meanwhile, during the week of May 16, our telephone lines and electronic services will be available, patron fines will not accrue, and we will work with all high priority requests. The library staff thank the community for their ongoing support during this exciting time, and we look forward to offering even greater access to services in the coming weeks. For more information or questions, please contact the library at (207) 764-2571 or email Sonja Plummer-Morgan at sonjapmorgan -at- presqueislelibrary.org, Lisa Neal Shaw at lisanealshaw -at- presqueislelibrary.org, or Dianna Leighton for Children’s Services at diannaleighton -at- presqueislelibrary.org.
