DESCRIPTION:Join us in the Library on Tuesday\, August 9 at 6:00 PM – \nAmy Quan Barry\, award-winning author and poet\, and professor at UW-Madison\, will be speaking about her books When I’m Gone\, Look For Me in the East\, and We Ride Upon Sticks\, with a book signing to follow. \nBarry was born in Saigon and raised in Danvers\, Massachusetts\, where she played on the Danvers High School field hockey team in the late 1980s. \nThis event is part of the Northwoods Book Festival\, a joint project from seven libraries in northern Wisconsin. DESCRIPTION:The Presque Isle Community Library is hosting a “Meet-the-Artist” Reception on Wed. July 20\, 3:00 – 5:00 pm\, featuring Northwoods artist Aline Fetter\, who is currently exhibiting 45 works of art in the library through July 31.  The exhibit is open to the public during normal library hours. \nThere will be a short presentation by the artist at 4:00 pm and light refreshments will be served. Fetter is a nature photographer living in Mercer\, WI.  Her work can also be seen online at www.alinefetterphoto.com. \nInspired by her passion for nature\, Fetter’s images capture its ever-changing kaleidoscope of colors\, unique patterns\, rich textures and an abundance of flora and fauna. “The North Woods has has such diversity\, from subtle beauty and reflective moods to exuberant scenes and lively moments” she says. “I use my camera to celebrate nature as it is written in light.”

DESCRIPTION:Warren Nelsen Concert \nThe Friends of the Presque Isle Community Library are excited to announce a free concert\, featuring well-known Bayfield musician and song-writer Warren Nelson\, founder of the Big Top Chautauqua\, and including vocalists Ed Willet on cello and Rowan Nelson-Ferris on banjo and guitar. \nPlease join us on Wednesday\, June 15th\, from 5:00 to 7:00 pm at the pavilion and parking lot behind the Presque Isle Library.   Chairs will be available\, but you may also bring your own.    In case of bad weather\, the concert will be moved into the Presque Isle Community Center\, with first come/first served seating. \nThanks to a generous bequest from the estate of benefactor Jackie Bassett\, the concert will be free for all.    For more information\, please call the library at 715-686-7613.
