Friends of the Library
Who are the Friends of the Library?
Our name tells it all, because anyone who supports the Presque Isle Community Library may become a “Friend of the Library.”
Presently, over 200 families have memberships in the Friends of the Library, and new Friends are invited to join at any time. Library card holders receive an invitation to become a Friend in their mail boxes each December, and membership forms are also available in the library all through the year.
What do we do?
Like all organizations, we have bylaws. Our bylaws state that:
Thus, our activities are varied, depending on the needs of the library and the creativity of the Friends. We raise money through our membership drive, donations, and a variety of fundraising projects.
You may have enjoyed using some of the library materials which the Friends of the Library have helped purchase: fiction books and large-print books, audio books, and children’s books. And you probably look forward to using the library’s remodeled classroom on the lower level.
We communicate with Librarian Shelly Knaack and with the library’s Board of Trustees to make sure our projects fit into the greater goals of the library and its programs.
When do we meet?
Regular meetings are held on the first Tuesday of the month at 2:00 pm at the library. We meet in February, May, June, August, September, October and November. We are always delighted to have new members join us.
Please ask Shelly at the library (715-686-7613) about meeting information.

Other community members join us for our regular monthly meetings, and many folks who are away from Presque Isle for part of the year participate seasonally, as well as supporting us with their memberships.
Donation of Materials
The Friends of the Library greatly appreciate your past support in donating books for our library fundraising efforts. Until further notice, FOL will no longer be accepting any book donations nor will we be sponsoring a book sale. We apologize for any inconvenience. Please join us at our FOL meetings as we move forward with new ideas in assisting our most valued Presque Isle Community Library.
