North Lakeland School Porcupine Mountains Photo Gallery – on the walls

Every fall, North Lakeland 8th graders take a backpacking trip to the Porcupine Mountains. Since 2010, students have participated in a photo contest. Winners get framed and hung on the walls at school. This gallery contains winning photos from over the years. The Porkies Backpacking Trip is one of the culminating trips of our Outdoor Education program. For two days in each season, fall, winter, and spring, the entire school participates in Outdoor Ed. Younger kids learn about lumberjacks, miners, voyageurs, and pioneers. Older kids learn outdoor skills that prepare them for the Porkies trip in the fall and a canoe trip in the spring.
